#InteriorWednesday
Our friend, award winning interior designer @thomasjayne recently returned to @winterthurmuse, from which he graduated, to decorate Chandler Farm. This historic Federal-style home on the former estate of Henry Francis du Pont is now the residence of @carolcadou, the director and chief executive of the museum.
Winterthur is a major source of inspiration for his work and, according to the designer, the house is a “a great opportunity to give back.”
In his interview with @nytimes Mr. Jayne shares his view that the use of color and wallpaper can dramatically brighten the interiors. For the dining room, he chose an 18th-century-style wallpaper in vivid colors to give “some seemingly contemporary oomph to the room.” he said. “That’s part of our message: that the past is surprising and unexpected.”
Meanwhile, we’re delighted to announce that Mr. Jayne will return to #TheWinterShow2021 as our Design Co-Chair. 👏We look forward to an abundance of inspiring moments to come!
